There are many official rules of soccer, all of which are observed in professional games throughout the world. The basics revolve around the fact that there are 11 players on each side (1 goalkeeper plus 10 outfield players) who compete to see who can score the most goals. A goal is scored when the ball goes over the goal line in the goal. The whole of the ball has the cross the whole of the line for a goal to be successful. If only part of the ball goes over the line the goal will not count.

There are also soccer rules revolving around fouls and other offenses that are committed. Most tactical and positional fouls are dealt with by rewarding the other team a free kick. If a player commits three or more minimal fouls they may receive a yellow card. This card serves as a warning and if a player gets two yellow cards he will be sent off the field for the rest of the game. Fouls that can be perceived as violent conduct can be punished with a yellow or red card, depending on the severity of the offense. A foul that prevents a direct goal scoring opportunity is also punished with a red card.

One of the many positives of playing soccer is that as long as you have a ball and several players, you can play a game absolutely anywhere. Around the world, everyday, lovers of the game are setting up makeshift pitches, and playing a great, friendly game of soccer. When it comes to choosing a place to play, there are only a few factors that you have to consider. Is there a flat, safe place to play? Are there any materials that can be used as goal posts? How many players do you have?

If you have enough players for a regular game of soccer, then a local YMCA, or community park will usually have a professional, regulation soccer field. In this case, what are you waiting for? Go play. Sometimes though, you do not have enough players, or a real field to play on, you have to get creative. A parking lot, a basketball court, a small area of grass in a park, or a street without much traffic are all viable choices. The beauty of soccer is that you can play anywhere and with anyone.

All that you really need is a ball and some friends. Go have fun.

Soccer is without question the most popular sport in the world. One reason for this popularity is that a player needs virtually no special equipment to play a friendly game. If you have a ball and a relatively large field, two makeshift goals can be easily constructed allowing play to commence. However, on the competitive side, there are a few necessary pieces of equipment.

A proper kit is required for competitive soccer. Most soccer players wear short pants with knee-length socks. Many players wear two pairs of socks in order to cut down on blisters. Long or short-sleeved pull over shirts are also standard.

With the shins being so vulnerable to injury in a soccer match, a good pair of shin guards are essential. They strap on easily around the lower leg and the socks aid in holding the shin guards securely.

Good shoes are also vital pieces of equipment. The pitch conditions will dictate the type of cleats that need to be worn.

Finally, whoever will play in goal needs a pair of goalie gloves to protect the hands when punching out line drive shots from inside the box. Don’t get a pair of gloves that is too bulky. The goalie still needs to properly handle the ball.

Since many people play soccer, the most popular sport in the world, many often have questions regarding where to obtain the best equipment that will help them shine in games. Even though equipment plays a very small part in success on the field, it always helps to have the best equipment available before playing. In order to get the best soccer equipment, a consumer’s best bet is to go to a store specifically specializing in soccer. By choosing to buy equipment at soccer specific stores, it is almost ensured that the equipment will be top of the line and a quality product. If you are looking for the best soccer equipment, it is best to avoid common shoe stores, sports stores, or department stores that do not specifically specialize in soccer or soccer equipment. Since equipment, particularly cleats, are usually faked and reproduced at a lower cost, staying away from the aforementioned stores will help to ensure that all purchases of soccer equipment are the real deal. Besides the fact that soccer specific stores have the best equipment, they also usually have employees that know the game and what equipment is the best for particular positions or levels of play.

Selecting the best soccer products is not easy, simply because of the variety of selection that is available. After all, there are so many top companies that sell soccer products, and even some smaller ones that have great products on offer. However, there are always certain “top” brands that can be relied on to provide the best gear for yourself or your soccer team.

The main companies that sell soccer products are Nike, Adidas, Umbro and Reebok. These are companies that have been selling soccer products for years. Nike and Adidas are the main two that everyone knows. Their global appeal is increased by the fact that stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez are all sponsored by one of these two companies. These major players are regularly seen wearing Nike or Adidas gear and they also appear in commercials for these companies. The reason players endorse such companies is not just because of the money they make, but because of the quality of the product that is on sale. The players that are sponsored by these companies wear shoes manufactured by those companies, which is a tell tale sign that they have faith in the product.
